About the Role

Solato is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to take full ownership of the system engineering domain and drive the architecture, integration, and technical excellence of our multi disciplinary products. In this senior role, you will work closely with the VP R&D, lead cross functional engineering efforts, collaborate with external contractors, and guide the system from concept through production, deployment, and field performance.

What Will You Do?

  • Lead the system architecture, system definition, and high-level design of complex multi‑disciplinary products.

  • Own the end‑to‑end technical understanding of the system—software, electronics, mechanics, materials—and guide decision-making across engineering disciplines.

  • Lead component selection for electronics, mechanical assemblies, modules, and system elements, balancing performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.

  • Manage collaboration with external contractors, vendors, and integrators, in addition to internal SW/HW/mechanics teams.

  • Define and maintain software, hardware, and system-level requirements for next‑generation Solato appliances.

  • Conduct and lead hands-on investigations, system bring‑up, integration, and validation in lab and field settings.

  • Lead field fault investigation, including structured problem isolation, data analysis, and root‑cause analysis (RCA) for complex system failures.

  • Drive corrective actions, system updates, and preventive engineering solutions based on RCA outcomes.

  • Install and upgrade system components (HW/SW), support field evaluations, and participate in pre-sale and post-sale technical engagements when needed.

  • Serve as the technical focal point for system-level decisions, supporting internal teams, contractors, and customer-facing groups.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer working on multi‑disciplinary products or appliances (SW/HW/mechanics).

  • Proven experience in system ownership, architectural definition, and system-level decision-making.

  • Hands‑on background in board design, embedded systems, or firmware development.

  • Demonstrated expertise in component selection, system integration, and technical tradeoff evaluation.

  • Strong track record leading field investigations, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis for complex systems.

  • Experience writing system-level and functional requirements, translating R&D, service, and customer inputs into clear specifications.

  • Solid understanding across software, hardware, mechanics, and their interactions in integrated systems.

  • Ability to work with engineering methodologies, diagnostic tools, and structured problem‑solving frameworks.

  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English.
